Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to the complaints of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) operating in Blok M regarding the increase in kiosk rental rates.
Because personally, for MSMEs, it becomes a priority
He explained that the kiosk rental is managed by MRT Jakarta through a partnership with one of the cooperatives.
"To trade at Blok M, there is indeed a collaboration between MRT and one of the cooperatives there," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (9/3).
Pramono Revokes WFH Policy as Jakarta Back to NormalIn the cooperation, the upper and lower tariff limits for kiosk rentals have been set. However, based on the reports received, the rental fees charged exceed the agreed upper tariff limit.
"In that cooperation, the upper limit for the fee has actually been imposed, there is a lower limit, and it turns out the fee collected is more than that," he expressed.
Therefore, he admitted to having reprimanded the MRT Director regarding the increase in kiosk rental fees. He even requested that the cooperation be canceled if it could not be conducted properly.
"I have already reprimanded the MRT Director. If it can't be disciplined, I request to cancel it; it’s better managed independently. No need for cooperation," he asserted.
Pramono assured that the Jakarta government will prioritize the sustainability of MSMEs, especially in the current economic conditions. He said, the increase in kiosk rental rates should not be arbitrarily imposed by the managers.
"It shouldn't then let the management or cooperative that manages it arbitrarily raise prices when the people visiting Blok M are crowded," he explained.
Pramono also emphasized his support for MSMEs so they can run their businesses well. He believes that the economic conditions in Blok M, which continue to improve, need to be maintained.
"Because personally, for MSMEs, it becomes a priority so they can run their businesses well. And since the economy is currently picking up, things are going well in Blok M," he stated.
